Blake was raised to fight for the underdog. He grew up watching his father fight for people who needed it most, including close friends who received help they never would have gotten otherwise, and that experience shaped his belief in the justice system long before he had any professional stake in it.
Blake was there when Brain Injury Law of Seattle was founded in 2016, helping his father, Scott Blair, build the firm from the ground up. Becoming a trial lawyer has been an aspiration of his for as long as he can remember, and in the meantime, he’s spent years learning about TBI law from the inside out — discovery, evidence, and the people at the center of it all.
Blake is the one who combs through discovery for the fine details, speaks with clients and witnesses about what happened, and manages the bulk of the firm’s public disclosure requests. He is, in a real sense, the person who reads and listens to everything a client brings to the firm, piecing together what was taken from them and what actually happened.
This work is personal for Blake. He sustained his own traumatic brain injury in 2020, and clients often tell him that talking with him is reassuring in a way they didn’t expect. He brings a calm presence to a frightening process, helps them understand that their symptoms, while difficult, can be managed, and the fact that he’s been through it himself makes them feel truly understood.
Beyond discovery, Blake manages the firm’s trial technology and courtroom presentation systems and leads focus group research to pressure-test case strategy ahead of trial. He is currently in his second year of Washington State’s APR 6 Law Clerk Program, working toward becoming a licensed attorney.
Blake lives in Edmonds near Yost Park, close to his favorite part of nature… the water. Outside the office, he’s usually spending time with his wife and daughter exploring Edmonds, building things and playing games with his kid, staying active through lifting and hiking, or drawing. He’s volunteered at the Edmonds Halloween festival for the past eight years, dressing up and helping build a memorable, fun environment for the neighborhood’s kids.
