    Bus Accidents in Washington

Bus collisions, while less frequent than other types of crashes, often lead to serious injuries due to the size and weight of these vehicles. In Washington, public transportation plays a key role in daily commuting, which means even one incident can have a significant impact on passengers and local traffic safety.

Common causes of bus accidents in urban areas of Washington include:

    • Driver fatigue or distraction
    • Poor weather conditions or limited visibility
    • Vehicle maintenance issues
    • Other motorists failing to yield or follow traffic laws

When a transit bus is involved in a crash, passengers and nearby motorists can experience a wide range of injuries. These may include broken bones, whiplash, or traumatic brain injuries (TBIs). Even seemingly minor accidents can have lasting consequences. Because the brain is such a soft and sensitive organ, a sudden jolt or impact can cause a traumatic brain injury that affects memory, focus, or coordination. These injuries often go unnoticed at first but can lead to long-term complications.
