Seattle, WA (October 13, 2025) – A teenager was taken into custody after a hit-and-run collision occurred on Saturday night, October 11, on the West Seattle Bridge.

According to the Seattle Police Department, at approximately 11 p.m. on Saturday, officers observed a vehicle speeding without headlights across the bridge. The driver then crashed into another vehicle traveling in the same direction. A 45-year-old man and a woman inside the struck car suffered injuries.

The speeding vehicle continued forward before hitting a barrier near the Delridge Way Southwest off-ramp, rendering the car inoperable. Police reported that the occupants initially fled but later returned to the scene. Officers arrested the 17-year-old driver for hit-and-run and reckless driving.

Seattle firefighters treated two injured passengers from the suspect’s vehicle before transporting them to a nearby hospital. The driver also received citations for lacking insurance and having mismatched license plates and registration. Officers released him to a family member and impounded the damaged vehicle.

Authorities confirmed the investigation into the crash remains ongoing.

    Car Accidents in Seattle

Car accidents in Seattle continue to be one of the leading causes of injury across the city’s roadways, especially in areas with heavy nighttime traffic. Speeding, impaired driving, and distracted driving often contribute to serious collisions like the recent hit-and-run reported. When crashes occur at high speeds, even minor impacts can lead to significant injuries that require ongoing care.

It’s crucial to consult with a personal injury attorney who has experience handling cases involving car accidents in Seattle. An experienced legal team can help victims recover compensation for:

    • Medical expenses, including emergency treatment and rehabilitation
    • Lost income during recovery
    • Pain and suffering
    • Vehicle repair or replacement costs

Understanding your legal options early can make a major difference in how your recovery progresses—both physically and financially.

Crash victims should always seek immediate medical attention, as some injuries, including traumatic brain injuries (TBI), may not show symptoms right away. Because the brain is a soft and sensitive organ, even a low-speed impact can result in lasting issues that affect concentration, balance, and emotional well-being.

At Brain Injury Law of Seattle, we focus on helping clients identify and treat these hidden injuries while pursuing the compensation they need for long-term healing.
