Seattle, WA (September 1, 2025) – A serious crash occurred late Sunday night, August 31, at Delridge Way Southwest and Southwest Trenton Street in Seattle.

Seattle Police received reports around 11:14 p.m. of a collision blocking the intersection. At the scene, officers noted that one individual required CPR. At that time, it was unclear if the injured person had been a pedestrian or an occupant of a vehicle.

Emergency responders with the Seattle Fire Department were requested to provide medical updates, but no further information about the injured person’s condition was available.

By 12:28 a.m., police described the incident as a suspected DUI crash. Authorities also requested a Seattle Department of Transportation crew to assist with cleanup.

At approximately 1:01 a.m., officers confirmed that the intersection had been cleared and reopened. The investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing.

    Car Accidents in Seattle

Car accidents in Seattle remain a leading cause of serious injuries every year. When alcohol is involved, the risks rise significantly. Late-night collisions, like the one recently reported, highlight the dangers of impaired driving.

Police often investigate suspected DUI crashes closely. These types of cases can involve complex legal issues, especially when injuries occur. Victims may face not only immediate medical bills but also long-term rehabilitation needs. Common challenges include:

    • Emergency treatment and hospital costs
    • Loss of income from time away from work
    • Ongoing therapy or rehabilitation
    • Emotional trauma following the accident

Head injuries are particularly concerning. Especially since the brain is a soft and delicate organ, which means even minor crashes can cause lasting harm. Symptoms such as headaches, memory problems, or difficulty concentrating may appear days after the accident. Medical support and legal guidance are both essential to ensure victims receive the care and resources they need.
