Seattle, WA (October 29, 2025) – Four people, including a 6-year-old boy, were hospitalized in a violent crash on Tuesday afternoon, October 28, in Seattle.

The collision occurred around 1:30 p.m. on Aurora Avenue North just north of North 130th Street. Witnesses said a speeding car ran a red light and t-boned a van crossing the intersection. The impact sent both vehicles spinning across the roadway, scattering debris and trapping one victim inside the crushed van.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene. Firefighters used hydraulic tools to free a trapped occupant from the wreckage. Paramedics treated several victims on the pavement before transporting a 63-year-old man, a 41-year-old woman, a 42-year-old woman, and a 6-year-old boy to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Investigators reviewed traffic footage from the Seattle Department of Transportation, which shows the car speeding through the light moments before the collision. Authorities remained on site for several hours, gathering evidence and documenting skid marks as they worked to determine what led to the devastating impact.

The Seattle Police Department has confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.

    Car Accidents in Washington

Collisions on Washington’s busy roads remain a serious safety concern, particularly in cities like Tacoma. Areas such as Marine View Drive often experience frequent crashes caused by congestion, sudden lane changes, and aggressive driving behavior.

These collisions often lead to devastating injuries. Among the most concerning are traumatic brain injuries (TBIs). The brain is a soft and delicate organ, making it highly vulnerable to sudden impacts or violent jolts during a crash. Even a single impact can lead to lasting physical and cognitive effects.

    Common lasting effects include:

    • Memory and concentration problems
    • Difficulty completing daily activities
    • Persistent headaches or dizziness
    • Changes in mood or sleep patterns
    • Loss of coordination or balance

Unlike visible injuries, brain trauma isn’t always obvious right away. A person might walk away from a collision feeling fine, only to experience confusion, nausea, or fatigue days later. That’s why early medical evaluation is essential, even after a seemingly minor crash.
