Puyallup, WA (August 26, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer disrupted traffic along westbound State Route 512 near Canyon Road on Monday evening, August 25. The accident, which occurred around 6 p.m., blocked all westbound lanes initially, leading to significant backups stretching toward Meridian.

According to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), state patrol and fire crews were dispatched to the scene shortly after the crash. By 6:40 p.m., officials advised drivers to take alternate routes while emergency teams worked to manage the scene and assist injured individuals. Paramedics evaluated and transported at least one injured person to a nearby hospital for further care.

By 7:15 p.m., tow trucks were en route to remove the damaged vehicles, and only the right lane remained obstructed. Roughly 25 minutes later, WSDOT confirmed all lanes had reopened, although residual delays persisted due to traffic congestion.

The Washington State Patrol is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

    Truck Accidents in Washington

Truck-related collisions continue to be a serious concern across Washington state highways. According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, large truck crashes contributed to thousands of injuries last year alone. These incidents often result in significant delays and severe injuries due to the sheer size and weight of commercial vehicles.

Truck crashes can lead to a range of long-term challenges. Below are some common consequences victims may face after such accidents:

    • Traumatic Brain Injuries: Head trauma is common in high-impact truck crashes. Victims may suffer from cognitive issues, memory loss, or mood disorders that require long-term treatment and rehabilitation.
    • Spinal Cord Injuries: The force of impact can lead to herniated discs, nerve damage, or full paralysis. These injuries often affect mobility and independence.
    • Psychological Trauma: Beyond physical injuries, survivors may deal with anxiety, depression, or PTSD. Mental health support is often essential for recovery.
    • Extended Recovery Time: Truck crashes typically result in more complex injuries. Victims may be out of work for weeks or even months, placing a financial strain on families.
    • Increased Medical Expenses: The cost of emergency care, surgeries, and follow-up treatments can escalate quickly. Without legal assistance, victims may struggle to recover full compensation.

It’s important to work with a personal injury attorney who has experience handling cases involving truck accidents. Acting quickly after a collision can make a significant difference. An attorney can gather evidence, manage insurance negotiations, and connect you with medical professionals. Delays in seeking help may cause key details or opportunities for justice to be lost.
