    Cathcart, WA (November 10, 2025) – A deadly collision on State Route 9 at 164th Street Southeast left one person dead and another seriously injured on Sunday, November 9.

    According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash occurred shortly after 7 p.m. and involved a head-on collision between two vehicles. First responders arrived to find both cars with significant damage and two individuals trapped inside. Emergency personnel pronounced one person dead at the scene, while medics transported the second person to a nearby hospital in serious condition.

    Both directions of State Route 9 were closed following the accident as troopers and investigators worked to determine what caused the crash. Crews remained at the scene for several hours to clear debris and document evidence.
