Snoqualmie Pass, WA (November 6, 2025) – An 18-year-old man died on Wednesday, November 5, around 10:30 p.m., after a violent crash involving a semi-truck on westbound Interstate 90 near Snoqualmie Pass in King County.
The Washington State Patrol reported that the young driver was heading west in a 1994 Ford Ranger when, for reasons still under police investigation, he struck a concrete barrier, spun out, and stopped partially in the far-right lane. Seconds later, a fully loaded semi-truck slammed into the disabled vehicle, crushing the smaller truck on impact.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene and found the pickup severely damaged. Nugent remained inside the vehicle with critical injuries. Firefighters worked quickly to reach him. Despite their efforts, he died from his injuries at the scene.
The semi-truck driver remained at the scene and was not injured. Officials confirmed that neither drugs nor alcohol contributed to the crash.
Troopers from the Washington State Patrol spent several hours documenting the scene and collecting evidence to determine how the events unfolded. The investigation into the deadly collision remains ongoing.
